Crackdown 3 may not have lived up to the expectations set by its predecessors, but still was a solid entry for the series in my opinion. While it wasn't the groundbreaking technological marvel originally promised, it was an extremely polished and satisfying game based on the formula set out by Crackdown 1 and 2. Today the team at Microsoft have announced the "Extra Edition" update.
The recently released Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive Crackdown 3 has received its third update post-launch, with more on the way. The last update added a little new content (more details below) while this one focuses on some co-op specific issues, like co-op campaign saves overriding other saves.
Crackdown 3's release is just 9 days away, and to celebrate, we now have the official launch trailer for a game that was originally announced in 2015. Don't expect any radical differences here between the previous two games - you still have a powerful "Agent" that takes on gangs of enemies in a neon filled city given free reign to blow up and shoot up everything in sight.
Crackdown is hands down one of the all time best co-op experiences I've ever had. Climbing the tower with a buddy, trying to make the biggest wreckage possible by piling cars, or simply speed running to collect orbs - it bar none set the open world standard for co-op sandbox action. Now it's yours for free on Xbox One or Xbox 360.
It's unfortunate, but Crackdown 3 has been delayed until 2019 - moving it out of this fall as originally planned. The game was originally slated to launch alongside the Xbox One X last year, but has seen troubled development. If the latest screens and videos are any indication though - the third game in this cult classic franchise might be worth the wait.
Microsoft is delaying the release of Crackdown 3 on the Xbox One and PC from Nov. 7, 2017 to spring 2018, the company told Polygon in an official email. The game was revealed at E3 2014 but has since been mostly a no-show to the gaming public. Many were worried about the state of the game, and it looks like that includes publisher Microsoft.

New info exploded out of Gamescom this week about the upcoming Crackdown 3, which we haven't seen a lick of since its unveiling at E3 2014. They're not talking too much about story or gameplay just yet, or actually saying how many players can co-op it. New claims have emerged, however, and they're pretty meaty.
